Poem: Our Love

It burns in my chest

It calls to me at night

Sending me down a rabbit hole

Of memories

The first kiss, the first hug

The laughs we shared

The conversations we had

It calls to me

Whispering your voice in my ear

Like a beacon shining bright

I seek it through the stormiest nights

When my mind is full of darkness & sadness

It shows me that all I need

Is you

You nurse my problems

With your toxic nourishment

I long for you when my days are overwhelming

The comfort you give

Like it’s okay to want to quit

Is addicting and safe

I miss all of it

Sadly you’ve become my life

And I’m supposed to get over you?

Just let you leave because we don’t fit?
